Meh. Purchased for use in 2nd grade classroom. Found an error immediately. (Apolo Anton Ohno's last name is missing on page 14). Three of the pages are poorly printed and blurry. (Pages 31,43,43) Good info. Great text features. Great photos. Great chart to track medal count.
It's okay. There are mistakes that should have been caught. Switzerland is misspelled and spelled correctly on the same page. There is also some information that is incorrect.
At first glance, this seems like a great book, but upon closer review, it looks like all the info and photographs were pulled off the web. I suppose the information is useful, but if you're going to do a book like this, do it right. The only useful thing, maybe, are the charts in the back where you can track who won what medal. Overall, this book is sloppy and unprofessional with a shiny, deceptive cover.
great book for younger readers and older
I bought this for my grandson who is going to be 11 in February. He tells me he loved it and learned the history of the winter Olympics and about some of the American athletes who will be competing in the Games. He was also able to tell me about all 15 different winter sports that the athleteswill be competing in, including Skeleton which I had never heard of. Great gift for grandparents to give to their grandchildren .
The images are all blurry and not very good quality. Seems as if it was copied from something else...
Nice book for the classroom!
