Great! Fast shipping! Love it, can't wait to start reading it.***UPDATE****Just like the greatest thing ever! This book was really entertaining and easy to read, as a fellow Detroit native I felt I could really relate and I'm very happy I made this purchase and anyone else who does I believe will not be disappointed. :)
Bounces around between all different subjects and all different periods of his life. Reads more like a magazine than a book with more than enough photos and scans to look at. His writing is extremely open and honest, for better or worse, just as he writes his lyrics. Opened the book just to take a peek inside, next thing I knew I had read across several chapters through the middle, just couldn't stop flipping through and reading and looking at the photos. Learning things I never knew about his life despite being a life-long fan who grew up on his music. The hard cover version has a unique red plastic dust jacket, like nothing I have seen. Very cool book. Recommend the book to all fans.
Great addition to our literary collection. The pages are filled with brilliant pictures and the content is very interesting. The only slight downfall is that it is a paperback, so it has shown some wear on the cover but nothing that would dissuade me from purchasing again. Happily satisfied.
As a Stan, this book was far from being a disappointment. Marshall's lyrics have always touched me the most out of any other artist and his book is no different. Reading about things in his life that made him hurt also made me hurt too while reading about them. I really admire Marshall for all of the obstacles he continues to overcome throughout his life. He deserves everything good in this life and the next.
As big fan of Eminem's work, I loved the book. The best part is that it was from his own words rather than a researched piece of work. The opening pages about Proof were indeed sad, but goes on to show why Em has been at the top of his game for so long - his loyalty to his friends and everyone who had been by his side. Although a quick read, I loved the book overall. Great pictures too. The photos of his lyric sheets - it was mind blowing to think that these were the very sheets that set the stage for some his biggest hits.
This book is great. i'm a veery big fan of Eminem, and even though I knew a lot about him, this book surprised me, I discovered a lot of stuff that I didn't know..the lyrics sheets are awesome, I love them. I finished the book In 2 days (I just wanted to make it last so long, I could finish it in just 1, but when It arrived I was like "my preeecious" haha I was addicted I couldn't put it down.the dvd I love it (even though it last just 15 minutes and there's already on youtube -.-).maybe the only con that I've found (if we can define it as a con) is that there are too many picture (which I really love, im like Eminem I cant read a book from cover to cover if there are no pictures in it) and there are too few talking.anyway, 5 stars, awesome book!
Bought this for my boyfriend who loves Eminem. He read it in less than 24 hours!
I was excited by all the reviews saying he didn't hold back and very insightful. But, after finishing this book in a record 3 days, it felt like he was just trying to tell us that he is normal like all of us but was grateful of his God giving talent that allowed him to be very successful, but I felt like he didn't really open up and really told the true story of his life. Most of the stuff he wrote was general and very brief and I was disappointed that he would go from one subject to the next almost on every page, it didn't flow like a timeline, it felt like random thoughts in his head was written page by page. Very disappointed. Wish I could get my money back.
